Small-incision cataract surgery combined with advanced-technology intraocular lenses (toric, presbyopia-correcting) as well as minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) combined with cataract surgery, Medical and Laser treatment of glaucoma, Diabetic eye exam, Dry eye, General/comprehensive care.


Dr. Kefella is a board-certified and a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and comprehensive ophthalmology.


Dr. Kefella graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Before joining medical school, she received NIH-grant to conduct research at Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical school.


Dr. Kefella completed her Medical Degree (MD) at Yale University School of Medicine. During her time at Yale, Dr. Kefella received a prestigious Howard Huge Medical Institute Award to complete a Master of Health Science(MHS) degree as well as to conduct research in Age Related Macular Degeneration.


Dr. Kefella was also the recipient of Miriam Kathleen Dasey Award at Yale, an award given to students with promise to fulfill the ideal of a compassionate physician. She completed her residency training in ophthalmology and fellowship training in glaucoma at Boston University School of Medicine/Boston Medical Center. Prior to joining Eye Care Specialists, Dr.Kefella was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology running a busy clinical and surgical practice in addition to doing research and teaching residents, fellows and medical students at Boston University School of Medicine/Boston Medical Center.


Dr. Kefella is currently accepting new patients and provides surgical and medical care of a wide variety of eye disorders including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, dry eye. She creates an individual, comprehensive care plan for each of her patients.
