Dr. Caroline Baumal
Dr. Caroline Baumal received her medical degree from the University of Toronto Medical School in Toronto, Canada, where she also completed her residency in Opthamology. Dr. Baumal is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine in Medford, Massachusetts, and was a Principal Investigator for New England Eye Center (NEEC) at Tufts Medical Center.
Dr. Baumal is available for consultation in all areas of medical and surgical retinal diseases. Her surgical interests include management of complicated retinal detachment, proliferative vitreoretinopathy, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of pre-maturity and ocular trauma. She has a special interest in macular degeneration, diabetes, uveitis, ocular manifestations of systemic disorders, ocular imaging, retinovascular diseases and pediatric retinal disorders. She is an investigator in several multi-center studies evaluating new therapies for macular degeneration and edema.
